- Extra tricks and tips to help elevate your footage even further
For the best results make sure you:
Ensure you change the opacity of the LUT and adjust contrast, saturation and exposure values of the original footage.
While these LUTs will work with any footage they have been designed to work best on flat picture profiles (F-LOG, S-LOG, V-LOG, ect ect)
So how do you use them?
When you apply a LUT, as its impossible to account for every situation, first start by adjusting the gain, lift and saturation values of the footage. If the result is still too intense then adjust the intensity of the LUT. I've found I will generally change the intensity between 60 & 120% for the best results.
Just like gain, lift and saturation, if your footage is looking too cool or warm go back and adjust the temperature of your footage.
As I grade in Davinci Resolve, my recommendation would be to first convert your footage from your flat picture profile to the Davinci Wide Gamut colour space, THEN, make your adjustments and apply the LUT of your choice. This will ensure no is clipping or creating artefacts and will produce the best result.
If you're unsure on how to install the LUTs into your choice of editing software, going to YouTube and searching "how to install luts into xyz editing software" will help you out.
FAQ
Will these LUTs work with my camera?
Yes! Although they have been designed around my workflow using Fuji's F-LOG picture profile, they will work on any other camera manufactures LOG format. As stated above, for best results I recommend first converting to Davinci Wide Gamut, making your adjustments and applying the LUT, then converting to REC709 and exporting. If you aren't editing in Davinci, first convert to REC709 using your camera manufactures provided conversion LUT, and make your adjustments from there.
Will this collection be updated in the future?
Yes! I plan on not only refining the current LUT's, but also adding a few more (more lifestyle and talking head focused ones). An email will be sent out to any buyers with free updates.
